Regular Meeting Minutes

June 14, 2021

 

Call to Order: President Ochs called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Roll Call: R. Ford, T. Sloan, Treasurer L. Holden, R. Johnston, President R. Ochs, D. Holden, A. Ford, Clerk S. Beitel

Absent: None 

Guests:  Wendy & Mark Young, Carla Devoll, John Henley

Agenda: 

Old business: A resolution was introduced to village council to close all Awakon Federal Credit Union bank accounts current with the Village of Wolverine moving total funds of $5,728.75 to the village’s current banking institution. Motion was made to approve by council member Kris Holden and support by council member Tansy Sloan, verbal vote was unanimous by all council members to adopt motion.

 

New Business:

  • John Henley, current owner of the former train depot property, proposes to split his property into two pieces and asked village council if there were any objections to this proposal. Council indicated they did not have any objections to his proposal but indicated the official decision rested with Nunda twp officials.
  • D. Micoff was not able to attend the meeting but indicated that he was able to make rounds regarding ordinance enforcement and we look forward to his report at the next meeting.
  • R. Ochs indicated that approval was just received regarding the south 27 road project and progress will begin to move forward with that in the coming weeks.
  • In a follow-up to the April meeting with the Consumers Energy rep, an application will be filed to request an engineer’s meeting to discuss changing out street lights and other lighting to LED.
  • Wendy and Mark Young introduced the possibility of having a festival for the village next year, possibly at the cedar street park, and discussed with council the feasibility of such an event at the park and what it would entail. Council was open to the idea and requested more information from the festival committee when it comes available.

Clerk Minutes:  Motion by D. Holden, support by R. Ford. Verbal vote unanimous, motion carried. 

Treasurer Report:  Motion by K. Holden, support by R. Johnston. Verbal vote unanimous, motion carried.

Financial Report:  Motion by A. Ford, support by K. Holden. Verbal vote unanimous, motion carried.

Payment of Bills:  Motion by K. Holden, support by R. Johnston. Individual verbal vote, unanimous, motion carried.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Presidents Report:  On file

Fire Board:  None

Community Center:  New lavender farm located at Lance Lake and Molineaux Rd has an interest in renting the community center on a weekly basis, more info to follow at next meeting.

Rink:  None

Parks & Recs:  The parks camping and pavilion use continues to provide a source of revenue and growing recognition as a destination for the village of wolverine providing much needed support for the community

Zoning:  None

Development & Advisory Committee:  None 

Adjournment:  Motion to adjourn meeting made by K. Holden, support by T. Sloan. Verbal vote unanimous, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8 pm.
